Will The Surgeon
Understand My Needs?
If you mean do our surgeons speak and understand English, yes they do
and very well. Many English speaking North Americans come
here
every year for inexpensive but high quality cosmetic surgery
procedures. The surgeon with whom you consult will want to
know
much about your general health and the kind of procedure(s) you are
requesting before agreeing to do the surgery.
»
Will It Hurt?
During your surgery, anesthesia ensures that you are comfortable and
feel no pain. If a general anesthesia is used, you will even
sleep through the entire operation. If a local is used, it
will
be in concert with other medication to make sure that you are
comfortable throughout the operation, and during your post-operative
recovery. After surgery any pain or discomfort you may
experience
can usually be controlled by medication, and will usually subside
within a matter of days.
»
How Soon Can I Get
Back To Work?
It depends greatly on what you are having done, but on average, most
cosmetic surgery patients are back to work within two to three weeks.
»
Will People Notice?
Usually no. Good cosmetic surgery enhances your looks
naturally
and often goes unnoticed. Friends may ask if you've been on a
vacation, started a new diet or changed your exercise plan, but
typically they won't know unless you tell them.
»
How Long Will The
Surgical Results Last?
Surgery that focuses on rejuvenation, such as Face Lift, Forehead Lift,
Chemical Peel and Eyelid Surgery can last 10 years. Surgery
which
reshapes or corrects an imbalance such as Surgery of The Nose, Chin
Augmentation, Breast Augmentation or Breast Reduction offers permanent
benefits that last a lifetime.
»
Will There Be Scars?
Yes, every incision produces some kind of scar, but they will probably
not be noticeable. Your surgeon will make every effort to
keep
scars as minimal as possible, and he will try to hide them in the
natural lines and creases of your skin. For the majority of
surgical procedures, your scars will fade over time, and become barely
noticeable.
»
How Long Does It
Take?
Many procedures can be performed on an outpatient basis, however major
surgeries such as Face Lift and Tummy Tuck require an overnight stay at
the hospital. After your surgery, you will return to your
private
room at our recovery retreat where you will be monitored and cared for
by our staff.
»
Is It Expensive?
Cosmetic surgery costs about 60% to 70% less than in Canada or the US.
Almost half of the people who currently undergo cosmetic
surgery
in North America earn in the range of $30,000 to $50,000 per year.
»
Will My Medical Plan
Cover It?
Usually it won't. Since cosmetic surgery is elective, most
medical plans don't cover it. However, there are some
exceptions. If your procedure is medically necessary, you may
be
covered. We recommend that you contact your medical plan
company
representative to get a definitive answer. In Canada, your
receipt for this service will likely be acceptable as a medical expense
for income tax purposes.

What Is My Next Step?
Make contact with us and let us know what procedure you are
considering. Most of our visitors have already had previous
consultations with and cost quotes from other cosmetic surgeons and are
fairly well educated concerning what medical information is needed by
the surgeon before he can decide whether or not you are a candidate for
surgery. If you are not certain about any aspect of the
anticipated surgery, we will lead you through the proper
steps.
At the same time, we will find out if you have any special dietary
needs while you are at our recovery retreat.
